Pavlos Pavlidis

Since February 2011 I'm a postdoc with Alexis Stamatakis in the Scientific Computing Group @ HITS. Our group continues the activities of the Exelixis Lab.

My research focuses on the analysis of genomic data:

  • Detecting positive selection in natural populations that have experienced past demographic changes.
  • Estimating number of species in a sample.
  • Inferring Genealogies.

The omega statistic for scanning for selection (new version: omegasplit)

  • It is able to handle missing data
  • It is able to handle very large amount of data (I have analyzed 400000 SNPs), by splitting the region in subparts.

 msABC for seedbanks

available from here

UPDATE: now the msABC can calculate sumstats from observed ms-like data. I promise to update the manual soon. For the moment please contact me if you need some help how to use this option.

UPDATE2: for priors that need to span a large interval e.g. (1, 100000)  I have implemented the logUniform prior. This is the flag -R. Check the report in the end of the msABC webpage for details.
