PhD doctoral researchers in Perinatal Immune Cell Development

About us:

The TRR 359 “Perinatal Development of Immune Cell Topology (PILOT) “ is a newly founded collaborative research group funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). This initiative studies the development of the immune system around birth PILOT brings together scientists from several institutions across Germany including LMU Munich.

We are looking for you:
PhD doctoral researchers in Perinatal Immune Cell Development (TRR 359 projects B02 & B07) at the Biomedical Center (m/f/x) in Martinsried

Your tasks and responsibilities:
The TRR359 initiative is now recruiting dedicated and highly motivated candidates for PhD doctoral projects. Our initiative covers diverse research areas ranging from immunology, to microbiology, molecular biology, physiology, and cell biology including the application of cutting edge technologies in (single cell) transcriptomics, proteomics, sophisticated in vivo bioimaging, and perinatal mouse models.
Besides contributing to his/her individual project, the successful candidate will also become member of the structured PhD program of TRR 359, called Co-PILOT. This program will take care of all aspects around your PhD work and offer an accompanying curriculum including transferable skills courses, methodological training and lab rotations as well as yearly retreats. The program language is English.

Applications for the PhD program are now open. Projects start in summer 2023 depending on the respective administrative regulations. Please submit your application via our online application system, which provides additional information to the initiative and the available PhD projects.

Your qualifications:

We are looking for determined and highly motivated PhD doctoral candidates. The successful applicant will join one of PILOT’s research groups and become member of the Co-PILOT graduate program. While focusing on the doctoral project, applicants will also be exposed to the scientific field of Perinatal Immune Cell Development.
You should hold or expect to hold a M.Sc. (or equivalent) degree in Biology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Life Science or related fields. English language proficiency is desirable.
