Research interests

My research is focused on the molecular mechanisms and physiology of photosynthesis, with a special interest on C4 and CAM adaptations. I am interested in long-term evolutionary processes and also in short-term responses to abiotic factors such as water and nutrient availability. Understanding the complex mechanisms and signaling from carbon concentrating mechanisms is very timely for agriculture and environment conservation, especially in the context of climate change.
