Research interests

My scientific interests include photosynthesis, biological networks and mechanisms, as well as aquatic and alpine ecosystems. In my doctoral research, I study the metabolism of lichen-associated green algae under thermal stress, using methods from ecophysiology, cell biology, biochemistry, and systems biology. Understanding how lichenized algae respond to temperature may provide insights into cellular resilience within symbiotic systems and could inform strategies for environmental monitoring and bioengineering.
