Research interests

I am a Master’s student in Plant Sciences working in the AG Gottschling group, where I focus on the diversity and systematics of freshwater dinophytes. My current project investigates Melodinium sp., a recently identified and still unclassified dinophyte that shows unique morphological and genetic characteristics.
Using an integrative approach combining classical taxonomy, microscopy, and molecular phylogenetics, I aim to better understand its morphology, evolutionary relationships, and systematic placement within Dinophyceae.
My work contributes to ongoing efforts to resolve the diversity and evolutionary history of freshwater dinophytes in Central Europe and beyond.
