Research interests

I am conducting a PhD project focused on the phylogenetics and taxonomy of Polycarpaea and other closely related genera in the pink family (Caryophyllaceae). I aim to integrate morphological and molecular data to clarify genus- and species-level boundaries. Furthermore, I am investigating the diversity of photosynthetic pathways (C₃, C₄, CAM) and biogeographic patterns in this genus, with a focus on its diversification in the Canary Islands.
