High-Performance-Computing (BioHPC)

Lights in the server room

Advances in research and development in recent years have revolutionized biology and brought it into the era of Big Data. Competitive research requires an adequate high performance computing infrastructure, both in terms of hardware and expertise.

The HPC cluster ‘BioHPC-Genomics’ of the Faculty of Biology is geared towards the current challenges of modern genome research. The creation of this central infrastructure is sustainable, as it optimises work processes, reduces costs and promotes interaction between working groups.

The HPC cluster is housed and managed at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) and used at the Faculty of Biology via remote access.
