Plant Research Facility

A modern greenhouse and several climate chambers are available for cultivating various model plants, supported by a reliable staff.

Welcome to the Biocentre's plant cultivation facility!

Plant cultivation plays a central role in supplying students and scientific projects. In addition to the numerous courses in the Bachelor's and Master's programs, special research areas (TRRs), other initiatives, and third-party funding are supported.

The existing 480 m² greenhouse offers valuable infrastructure, including 320 m² of cultivation space via 11 individually controllable cabins in two wings. Additionally, the plant culture facility comprises 16 walk-in growth chambers designed for conducting experiments in the field of plant science, particular with regard to abiotic and biotic stress interactions.
