You can choose from a variety of courses for your minor. Compulsory courses are scheduled for the first three semesters. For later semesters, you can choose from various modules. Unfortunately, scheduling a minor isn't always possible without overlaps. The study regulations also allow you to take courses from earlier semesters. Below is the recommended schedule. Information about the times and locations of the courses can be found in LSF under the "Minor" section.

The structure of the program is regulated in the study and examination regulations for the minor (120 KB).

For the minor, it is recommended to take a module worth 6 ECTS credits each semester.

  • Semester 1: General Biology Module for Minors 1: In addition to the Biology for Minors 1 lecture, this module includes the Botany or Zoology lectures. In the third semester, the other lecture with an internship is chosen. For example, if you attended the Botany lecture in the first semester, you must take the Zoology lecture and internship in the third semester.
  • Semester 2: General Biology Module for Minors 2: General Biology for Minors Part 2 lecture and the Systematics lecture.
  • Semester 3: Depending on the choice made in the first semester, the other lecture with an internship/exercise: Botany or Zoology module.
  • Semester 4: Take one module from the modules Systematics (covering the biodiversity of animals and plants), Animal Physiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, or Evolutionary Biology (ecological interpretation of aerial photographs is currently only offered as an internship; this can be taken in the Ecology module instead of the ecology internship).
  • Semester 5: Take one module from the modules Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or Human Biology.

Please note that it is also possible to take modules from higher semesters early or to take modules from lower semesters later. Choose modules based on studyability and your schedule. Information on the schedule of individual modules in each semester can be found under: Current information in the Bachelor's Timetables section.
