June 2, 2025 – Behind the seemingly quiet life of plants hides a highly complex network of biological relationships: plants and microorganisms interact as allies, competitors, or cohabitants and together shape our ecosystem. The new podcast 'Pflanzen und ihr Mikrokosmos' by the Collaborative Research Center TRR356 PlantMicrobe invites listeners on a scientific journey of discovery into these hidden micro-worlds.

September 10, 2024 – Although invisible to the naked eye, microorganisms are crucial to plant health. In its second exhibition, ‘Vom Sichtbaren zum Unsichtbaren’, the TRR356 PlantMicrobe research center uses macro and microphotography to provide a wide range of insights into the exciting interplay between plants and microbes.

May 13, 2024 – The photo competition ‘Plants and their Microcosm’ is aimed at nature-loving photographers aged 13 and above and is intended to encourage them to go outside and discover the fascinating interaction between plants and microorganisms. Entries can be submitted by email until August 1, 2024.

October 16, 2023 – Plants interact with countless microorganisms in their environment. In addition to harmful pathogens, many microbes are beneficial to plant health. In the exhibition ‘Friends and Foes’, scientists from the TRR356 research center provide insights into these diverse communities.

July 10, 2023 – Agricultural yields and thus food security depend crucially on plant health. The first public symposium of the TRR356 PlantMicrobe research center focuses on biological research related to plant health and invites all interested parties to listen, contribute their thoughts and join the discussion at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich.
