|---|---|
| P 12 ECTS BSc, MSc | Molecular phylogenetics and trait evolution of plants Students are involved in ongoing research of the lab group spanning from (phylo)genomics to trait evolution of different plant lineages. Students will be given an opportunity to generate their own NGS datasets, and perform a plethora of different (phylo)genomic analyses to answer burning questions in the field of evolutionary botany. | P 12 ECTS BSc, MSc | Biology of C4 and CAM plants Students are involved in current research on C4 and CAM (Crassulacean Acid Metabolism) plants, i.e., plants with a specialized photosynthetic pathway. The practical may cover different aspects and methods, such as ecology, physiology, and anatomy of C4 and CAM plants as well as gene expression studies and put them into an evolutionary perspective. | P 6, 9 or 12 ECTS BSc, MSc, teacher | Biology of dinophytes Students are embedded in current research of unicellular algae. Methodologically, the work includes taxonomy and nomenclature, isolating and cultivating of protists, light and electron microscopy and/or molecular phylogenetics. The lab report can be a part of a future publication. |
| P 6, 9 or 12 ECTS BSc, MSc, teacher | Taxonomy and morphology of selected flowering plants Students are embedded in current research of flowering plants. Methodologically, the work includes taxonomy and nomenclature, herbarium study, biogeography (georeferencing), light and electron microscopy and/or molecular phylogenetics. The lab report can be a part of a future publication. Link to LSF |
| P 6–12 ECTS BSc, MSc, teacher | Genetic diversity of lichens Students are integrated in current research on the genetic diversity of lichenized fungi or their photobionts, and learn basic population genetic analyses. Link to LSF |
| P 6–12 ECTS BSc, MSc, teacher | Species diversity of lichens Students investigate the species diversity in relation to diverse environmental factors. Species are identified with classical microscopic and chromatographic methods. Data are analyzed with statistics, including ordination and mixed linear models. Link to LSF |
| P 6–12 ECTS BSc, MSc, teacher | Bioinformatic analysis of next generation sequencing Students learn how to analyze data from high throughput DNA sequencing platforms with different bioinformatics tools. Link to LSF |
| P 6-12 ECTS BSc, MSc, teacher | Systematics and biology of carnivorous plants Students participate in current research on carnivorous plant systematics, phylogenetics, and ecology. Link to LSF |
| P 6–12 ECTS BSc, MSc, teacher | Biology of lichens Students are integrated in current research on different aspects of the biology of lichenized fungi and/or their photobionts. Link to LSF |
